The story behind the element.
Makermeetsmetallurgist.
Elemental Ag is the work of a small, obsessive studio that pours and refines silver while filming every step. We're hands-on, precise, and a little fanatical about purity — the kind of operation that weighs a pour to three decimals and then weighs it again.
The brand name is literal. Ag is the periodic symbol for silver — atomic mass 107.868 u.
The process — in five steps.
- 01
Collect
Sterling flatware, dental scrap, photographic fixer, mystery alloys — every batch starts with sorting.
- 02
Melt
Induction crucible, fluxes, and a torch. The first pour exposes everything inside the metal.
- 03
Assay
XRF on a clean cut to know exactly what we're working with. Fire assay for the high-value batches.
- 04
Refine
Inquartation, parting, and cementation — pushing the silver toward .999 and pulling everything else out.
- 05
Cast
Graphite molds, custom coin dies, octahedrons. The shape on the way out tells the story of the batch.
Milestones.
- 2020First garage pour. 5kg crucible, 1 oz of cleaned sterling, zero idea what we were doing.
- 2022Channel launches. The first 'Pouring 100 oz from sterling' hits 1M views.
- 2024Studio move. Induction furnace, dedicated assay bench, the vault.
- 2025Periodic Element Coin series — Ag is the first strike.
- 2026Elemental Ag — the hub goes live.
